Is there an interrupter in the house?

I found this on a website not too long ago and it left me chuckling for hours. Interpreters get called a lot of things, but not often in print. When things get published there has usually been enough editing to catch the most interesting errors.

Other fun things I have been called: the girl who comes in and signs, the interpretator, the interloper, the closed-caption lady, the signer, the sign lady, the one who works with the um..., the deaf signer, the sister, the mom, the translator, and best of all...
The girl.

New mantra: Interpreter shall remain fair and impartial... Interpreter shall not shed blood while engaged in an interpreting assignment... Interpreter shall not judge participants...
