So, while I was grocery shopping a few weeks ago I found the strangest thing in the dairy section. The type of thing that makes you do a double take while you mutter the phrase "what the...?" Pancake batter in a spray can. Yeah, I still think it's odd. My instinctual reaction was to roll my eyes and laugh, but about halfway through my laugh, it morphed to become more of an intrigued and bemused/confused laugh. Bizarre as it looked, I naturally HAD to buy it, just because it was so funny. If worst came to worst, I would at least still have a funny story.Breakfast yesterday was, you guessed it, pancakes. And I was surprised. They were not nearly as bad as I had expected. Although they were certainly not the best pancakes I had ever eaten (some syrup might have helped, but I was out) they were edible and fast, easy to clean up after and just plain fun to spray into the pan.
I can see myself buying this once in a while in the future, because even though they weren't wonderful, I don't cook for myself anymore, and honestly, sometimes you only want one pancake anyways.
On another note, here is a short PSA/commercial I found this afternoon that I found myself really liking for some reason.
Anyhow - happy Sunday!
Yeah. I was thinking that stuff would taste uber nasty. My girls would love it though. What will they think of next? Funny that it's organic, especially considering how wasteful that can is. It's probably not even recyclable.
ReplyDeleteAny health benefits of that "organic" batter were probably destroyed in the canning process. Have you seen the jugs of batter you just shake and pour? I think stuff like that makes the hard-working pioneers turn over in their graves. :)
ReplyDeleteThe 'organic' part just made me laugh even more, thats kinda like saying Redi-Whip is organic. Really, how utterly random can you get? But it is certainly amusing in a bizarre sort of way. Where do you get the jugs of batter? I've seen people make their own and store it in the fridge, but I haven't noticed it in stores.
ReplyDeleteI never thought that pancakes could be mistaken for Easy Cheese but I stand corrected.
